Hawaii!

Did you figure out our first stop was going to be Hawaii?

There are websites where you can follow the daily progress of a cruise ship.  This is one way my friends and family can “follow along” when I travel.

In this second map you can see the Hawaiian Islands, and San Diego… we had already been at sea for two days when I captured these images of the map.

We sailed for 5 days to reach Nawiliwili, Kauai.

The entire island of Kauai has a population of just over 73,000 people… the city I live in has more people than that.  What about you?  Is Kauai bigger than your hometown?  Does it have more people?

Nawiliwili has a lighthouse, so Flat Hal, Flat Stanley and I went for a walk near the beach and got a nice picture of the lighthouse.

Walking across a bridge over this water, I noticed some pretty purple flowers were growing down there.  Turns out they are called water hyacinths.
