Flat Stanley takes off on an Adventure with Flat Hal

Traveling, whether it is with family or friends, can be a lot of fun.

Flat Stanley posed for a picture as soon as we boarded our plane, and instantly ran in to an old acquaintance who offered to help him pose for a fun picture!

Unfortunately, the plane had mechanical difficulties and all of the passengers were asked to return to the terminal while mechanics worked on the aircraft.

Never fear though, while in the terminal we had fun looking at the departures board, imagining all the places we could go.

Flat Stanley spotted Treasure Island on the departures list.

Treasure Island (originally titled The Sea Cook: A Story for Boys[1]) is an adventure and historical novel by the Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson. It was published in 1883, and tells a story of “buccaneers and buried gold” set in the 1700s. It is considered a coming-of-age story and is noted for its atmosphere, characters, and action. Flat Hal on the other hand saw Atlantis on the departures board.

Atlantis (… ’island of Atlas’) is a fictional island mentioned in Plato’s works Timaeus and Critias as part of an allegory on the hubris of nations. … After an ill-fated attempt to conquer Athens, Atlantis falls out of favor with the deities and submerges into the Atlantic Ocean.
