Nawiliwili, Kauai – flowers and birds

Flat Hal and Flat Stanley went in to my backpack and my camera (as opposed to my cellphone) came out, and I started taking pictures of flowers and birds.

Often, when I travel, I get to see flowers and birds that don’t grow or live near my home. (These are Plumeria for example)

This is a Zebra Dove

I saw Red Hibiscus growing… the yellow Hibiscus is the state flower.  Do you know the other symbols of Hawaii?

What are the symbols for your state or province?  Do you see them around town and take them for granted, or do you notice them when you see them?
